ACT/CBS Background and Training: My ACT and CBS journey began back in 2009 when I attended introductory and advanced ACT workshops. I was hooked by a science that made me curious. From here I attended everything I could, Dr Kelly Wilson in 2011, followed by RFT, Children and Parents and the ANZ conference later that year.
In the following year, 2012, I went to trainings with Dr Louise McHugh on the Self and Perspective-taking, Dr Kirk Strosahl and Dr Patty Robinson 2 day training followed by the ANZACBS annual conference.
In 2013 I pursued training with the amazing Dr Louise Hayes, honing my skills on working with adolescents.
2014 was more Dr Kelly Wilson, an ACT Bootcamp and the ANZACBS annual conference with Mike Twohig 2 day pre-con on OCD and Anxiety.
In 2015 Dr Louise Hayes brought her DNAv training to town, then it was off to New Zealand for the annual ANZACBS conference with a 2 day Darin Cairns pre-con follow up with Dr Steve Hayes and Dr Robyn Walser.
In July 2016 I went back for more training with Robyn Walser…who wouldn’t!! And then the ANZACBS conference with Dr Dennis Tirch and Dr Laura Silberstein-Tirch, Dr Mattieu Villatte and Mary Sawyer.
2017 was 2-day pre-con with Lisa Coyne on OCD and ERP plus the main conference where I also presented with Dr Sacha Rombouts, Reyelle McKeever and Darin Cairns.
In 2018 I attended Prosocial training with Dr Paul Atkins for 6 weeks online followed by the annual ABA Australia conference with multiple BCBA-Ds.
Compassion Focused Therapy was a new CBS related training that I undertook in 2019 attending 2 trainings with Paul Gilbert OBE and Dr James Kirby. In addition, I attended a 1-day workshop with Dr Everlyn Gould and attended the ABA Australia annual conference.
I also attended further advanced training with Dr Lisa Coyne and Dr Ben Sedley on ERP for adolescents with OCD and anxiety.
In 2019 I undertook my M.Ed in ABA at Monash University with Dr Erin Leif.
I graduated at the end of 2020 and have maintained my CBS and ABA PD training.
ACT/CBS Experience: I work in a clinical private practice setting supporting children, adolescents, families and caregivers, many of whom are neurodivergent, along with educational staff. I apply CBS, CBA, ACT and BA in my work and life.
