Fusion- saliva and cockroaches

I am looking for other examples of fusion, similar to the "Saliva" example. The explanation in Steve Hayes book, "Get Out of Your Mind and into Your Life", is such a powerful one. It really makes the point of fusion, and I totally get it after reading this. And at the same time, I can't see myself using it, sharing this story with others. It is Sooo gross. I had a hard time even reading it, and when I have shared it with one other person, they became completely repulsed. Does anyone have any other great words/concepts that might have a similar, universal feel that they have used successfully? Cockroach comes to mind, Why do we all hate them so?
