Trainer: Kevin Polk, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist in private practice and the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Togus, Maine. He is the co-creator of a 5-day intensive group outpatient ACT treatment protocol for veterans. In addition he has created weekly group and individual protocols based on ACT. He is also the developer of an ACT-consistent stress management program for the general public called “Turning Stress Into Success” that will soon be in book form. He is currently co-authoring the book ACT Training Made Simple. Dr. Polk and his colleagues have translated ACT into four themes with easy-to-learn exercises to accomplish the therapeutic goals of each theme. Each exercise is tied to a “Life Manual.” Psychotherapy content and process are then tracked via the Life Manual.
Facilitator: Patt Aptaker, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist in practice in Baton Rouge, La. She has 28 years of experience and has trained extensively in marriage and family therapy, hypnosis and coaching.
