My interest in mindfulness precedes & pervades my study and use of ACT. I try to meet people where they are in their understanding of the mind, and enrich their willingness to risk being fully themselves, living their lives with a sense of presence, openness, light-heartedness, and intention.
In terms of training, I have attended intensive workshops with John Forsyth, Ph.D. and Robyn Walser, Psy.D. While on postdoc in 2006-2007, I worked with Kevin Polk, Ph.D. and Jerold Hambright, Ph.D. here at Togus VA Medical Center to develop an ACT-based intensive treatment program for PTSD. Since 2007, I've been working as a psychologist in primary care at Togus VA have been enjoying the process of adapting ACT/RFT to very brief interventions for a wide range of client presentations and physician referrals. I love the supervision process and have really enjoyed facilitating our local ACT clinical supervision group at Togus VA, learning and teaching through case discussions.
